There’s nothing worse than arriving at your destination after a long trip and realizing you forgot simple toiletries like your toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. Then you have to cut into your trip chasing down these supplies in an unfamiliar town. On top of that, hard-earned vacation money must now be spent on things you have sitting at home . Try this tip from Julie Morgenstern, author of Shed Your Stuff, Save Your Life: Group items that go together (i.e. oral hygiene, shower supplies) into labeled plastic sandwich bags. While this may sound simplistic, you can see what you have at a glance and you don’t risk forgetting something. Morgenstern also recommends creating “activity” bags for the kids. These would include items to keep the kiddos occupied while traveling and during any downtime during the trip.
